Another great family addition is the puggle. If you are looking for a high-energy, fun loving companion, the puggle is a wonderful choice.
Created in the 1980s, the puggle is a cross between a purebred pug and beagle. Considered to be a small lap dog, puggles can weigh anywhere from seven to thirty pounds. A low maintenance dog, puggles have a shorthaired coat. This small breed is black or multicolored, with the signature pushed in face, like the pug.
Having characteristics from both the pug and beagle breeds, it is important that when you are looking for a puggle, make sure you find a purebred puggle. This will ensure the health of the puggle, although puggles can suffer from health issues, including epilepsy and heart conditions.
Don’t be deterred by possible health problems, puggles love to run and play, and like the beagle, they love to have their nose to the ground, tracking wherever they are. An ideal breed for young families, it is important to train your puggle early, as they tend to be stubborn.
